Fangzhou Tong

Ph.D. Student, Ocean Engineering. Fangzhou is working on field data collection, analysis, and numerical model simulations to better understand vessel wake impacts on shallow-bay systems and wetland edge erosion. The objectives of his research are not just to predict the impacts of vessel hydrodynamics on coastal systems, but also to explore how vessel-induced dynamics could be used in a beneficial way to mobilize and transport placed dredged sediment in support of nearby wetland systems suffering from erosion.
