Delaney Doran

Ph.D. student, Ocean Engineering. Delaney is the latest addition to the CEL. Her research focus is on core-enhanced dune systems for flood risk reduction. These hybrid structures combine the benefits of traditional hard coastal structures with those of sand dunes. Specifically in locations where the natural feel, aesthetics, and ecological value of dunes are important but space is limited and reliable flood risk reduction is required, core-enhanced coastal dunes provide a viable alternative. Delaney uses physical model studies and numerical simulations to assess the dynamics of such systems under storm impacts and post-storm recovery. Back to Current CEL Team …
